What is the Schedule Feature? #
With Projectmates project schedule tool, building task-based timelines is easy. Set task predecessors, assign responsibilities, set reminders, and more. Everyone on your team will be able to access their specific schedule from anywhere on any device. Whether you’re in the office or on the go, access to your schedule is never far away.
Viewing the Schedule #
A projects schedules can be accessed by navigating to the project through the My Projects page.
Once inside of a project, the schedule tool can be found on the left-side menu by clicking Tasks > Schedules. From there, select the appropriate schedule type.

- Once inside the desired schedule group, Click into the desired schedule. This will load the viewing area, where you can see the created schedule tasks ordered chronologically.

Importing a New Schedule #
Projectmates allows users to import schedules formatted through our Template or we also accept many file types from other systems, such as Primavera (.xer) or Microsoft Projects (.mpp).
Importing from Project or Primavera #
- Within a schedule selected from the left side bar menu choose the “More” option at the top right-hand corner.

- From the schedule import/export menu you may:
- Download the blank Projectmates format template.

- Select the file browser to locate your external schedule system file or drag and drop into the menu.

Importing from Excel #
- Export the current schedule tasks into Projectmates template format.

- Importing from Excel Template.
- Download the blank Projectmates format template.

- Open the blank template within Microsoft Excel.
- The template allows you to fill in all necessary fields just like you can when creating a task within Projectmates directly, with a sample data row.
- The template marks the columns blue to denote this field is required for successful importing back into your Projectmates schedule.

Creating and Editing Tasks #
- To create a new task for a schedule, click the add icon within the editing tools. New tasks will automatically appear at the end of the schedule. Tasks can be dragged and dropped into the proper spot within a schedule once created.

- Within the New Task window, name the New Task.
- Denote the Planned Start and Finish Date.
- Denote Actual Start Date or Finish if applicable.
- Mark the schedule task as milestone if needed.
- Click Save.

Setting Up Predecessors #
Predecessor relationships can be set between tasks to allow automated changes to tasks as the schedule is manipulated and actioned.
- Select a task and then the pencil edit icon.

- Select the Dependency tab and add.
- Choose the task you in the dropdown this task will be based off.
- Your dependency options are:
- Finish-Start (Task A finishes = Task B starts).
- Finish-Finish (Task A finishes = Task B finishes).
- Start-Finish (Task A starts = Task B finishes).
- Start-Start (Task A starts = Task B starts).
- Within the Offset field, you may denote any positive or negative lags days with your dependency.
Assigning Resources #
- Select the desired task and choose the pencil edit option.
- Select the resources tab.
- Choose specific users and/or roles to assign this task.
- Click Save.
